A safari with a different perspective

Tarangire Treetops offers something a little different – spacious treehouse suites and a peaceful setting that feels far removed from the crowds.

Overview

Tarangire Treetops is one of those properties that stands out straight away. Built around ancient baobab and marula trees, the rooms are all elevated, giving you a completely different view of the landscape. It’s located in a private conservancy just outside Tarangire National Park, which we really like as it allows for a more relaxed, exclusive safari experience.

The conservancy is home to plenty of wildlife, and you’ll often see elephants moving through camp, sometimes right below your room. Being outside the main park also means you have access to activities that aren’t always possible elsewhere, such as night drives and guided walks.

The overall feel here is calm and spacious. The main lodge area is set around a large baobab tree, and it’s the kind of place where you can easily spend time in between activities just soaking it all in. It’s a great option if you’re looking for something a bit different, without losing that authentic safari feel.

Rooms

Spacious treehouse suites, designed to blend into the landscape

The rooms at Tarangire Treetops are all elevated on wooden platforms, built around the trees, which gives them a real sense of privacy and space. Each suite is very generously sized, with a large bedroom, en-suite bathroom, and a private balcony overlooking the bush.

They’re open and airy, but still very comfortable, with everything you need for a relaxed stay. The design is simple and natural, and while it feels quite unique, it never feels overdone or out of place in the surroundings.

Activities

A wider range of experiences thanks to the private conservancy

One of the big advantages of staying here is the variety of activities on offer. Game drives into Tarangire National Park are, of course, a highlight – the area is particularly well known for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees.

Within the conservancy, you can also enjoy guided walking safaris and night drives, which add a completely different dimension to your stay. There’s also the chance to visit a nearby Maasai village, which gives a bit more insight into the local culture.

Sundowners are a big part of the experience here, often set up in beautiful, quiet locations, and the slower pace overall means you never feel rushed from one activity to the next.
