"Wow! Amazing animals! Amazing camps/lodges! Amazing guides, drivers and everyone else we met along the way! Every experience felt very authentic and not touristy. Can not recommend Ololo Safaris highly enough!
Our group of 5 adults spent 11 unforgettable nights in 4 different locations in Kenya. Jim planned the customized itinerary for us. The animals were incredible, of course, but what seems to be unique about Ololo is that they work with properties that are small, locally owned and very involved with their surrounding communities. We were able to tour two schools, and it was so impressive to see how important education is – especially for girls – in the rural areas. Those visits were some of the unexpected highlights of the trip!
Our meals were fresh and delicious, and all the properties were able to prepare vegan options. I’d recommend staying at least 3 nights, if possible, at each lodge/camp, which is what we did. If you have any reservations about traveling to Africa, know that we felt very safe as were escorted on our journey through Kenya!"

"Trip of a lifetime! Jim and Charley put together an amazing trip to Kenya for our group. We stayed at Ololo Lodge Nairobi National Park and Enkewa Camp in the Masai Mara Reserve where the staff, food, accommodation and guides were excellent. We were lucky enough to tick off the big 5 and to see the start of the great migration in the Mara- the boys made sure we saw the best that Kenya has to offer. "The first stop of our 16 day safari (organised by Charlie after listening to our wants and needs) was spent at Ololo. An amazing, uplifting experience. Our room was large, comfortable and luxurious. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were fantastic and genuinely keen to please. We received a very warm welcome after arriving late at 1.30am with a bowl of soup and home made lemonade. Kip our driver was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable and excited to show us the wonderful wild life in the Nairobi Park. The food and wine was delicious (the best of all camps we visited). The 2 daily safaris were varied and we saw all the big 5 along and so much more. The trip to the glass factory was fabulous as was the trip to see the Elephant Sanctuary and feeding the giraffes. We highly recommend planning and booking your trip through Charlie. He chose the perfect parks and lodges and tailored the experiences just for us including a balloon flight over the Masai Mara a Flight over Victoria Falls and Water safaris in Botswana. We loved the breakfasts and sundowners out in the bush too. All travel, pick ups and transfers ran smoothly and Charlie was constantly in contact and keeping us informed every step of the way. A huge Thank you Charlie. An extra shout out for Lemmy, Peter and Fred who taught us so much about Kenyan life. So many lifetime memories made. We will be back."

"Our trip could not have been any better. Every day of our 13 day adventure exceeded expectation. From our first day at ololo lodge in Nairobi with Steve to our epic road trip with Ernest as our guide and driver ( we cannot recommend him more highly ) to Naivaisha, Nakuru, Kakamega rainforest and Kisumu to our time and Enkewa lodge in the Masai Mara everything was just fantastic . We stayed in contrasting lodges , luxury camps and then for four nights at the Sands at Nomad beach in Diani , a little slice of paradise. We were so impressed with all the staff we encountered, our itinerary lived up to and surpassed expectation , the children were so well catered for and kept engaged at all times by our brilliant guides and we quite simply had the best trip of our lives. I’m not sure where we go from here , we are all still buzzing and as my 7 year old said , we were heartbroken to leave. We will be back."

"Ololo Safaris organised a 15 day trip for us to Kenya. The trip went smoothly, and Charley was faultless in his attention to detail and planning of an amazing adventure. We started our trip at Ololo Lodge where we were spoilt with plentiful delicious and interesting food, comfortable and uniquely decorated rooms and safaris around Nairobi National Park. Then Charley organised a trip to the Maasai Mara where we spent 4 nights at Enkewa camp where we enjoyed safaris at the Mara and saw such an incredible range of animals. Accommodation and food at Enkewa was fantastic as well. Charley also organised a trip for us to Lamu Island which I can highly recommend. It is a relaxing and facinating place. Full of history and culture. The rest of the time was spent back at Ololo Lodge where I felt at home with the friendly and helpful staff. It was difficult to leave Ololo and Kenya. Don't hesitate, book yourself a special trip with Charley. You will not regret it!"

"Stunning lodge, ideally located in Nairobi National Park, with authentic charm, delicious meals, diligent staff, and jaw-droppingly gorgeous interiors and design. The safari tents were actually fixed stone buildings with canvas entrances — absolutely stunning. The Tower Room had the most amazing view of the park, the Stable Rooms were durable and well-priced, and the Family Suites were superbly fitted out. The whole property is an experience in itself — you arrive by crossing a drawbridge into the lodge. The drivers and safari vehicles are second to none. I cannot rate this property highly enough. In all our travels, this is truly one of the most exquisite places we have ever stayed. Also, a huge thank you to our tour operator, Jim Chapman, who led our trips from the lodge and planned the most amazing adventures to the Masai Mara and Watamu — incredibly well thought out, with the best accommodation and activities."

"Ololo Lodge came highly recommended and we couldn't have been happier with the unforgettable itinerary crafted by Jim. The tour itinerary included Nairobi National Park, Lake Naivasha and Masai Mara Basecamp. We were so lucky to be guided by Soi - a very experienced, patient and humble person who shared his passion for all the varied wildlife across Kenya. At last count we spotted at least 25 different animal species but the elusive leopards will have to wait for future adventures. The accommodation, menu crafted from local produce and warm hospitality were above and beyond! The elevated location of Ololo Lodge and national park vistas provided welcome relaxation between epic safari drives. The lodge also caters well for young guests. It was uplifting to learn the team at Ololo Foundation also have numerous projects supporting the local community. We can't recommend the Ololo safari experience more highly!"

Our two-week trip to Kenya with Ololo Safaris was a wonderful experience. The trip was a very well organised adventure of truly awesome encounters with the amazing animals of Kenya, fused with heartwarming meetups and singing experiences with generous and talented Kenyan singers. Thanks so much to the Chapman family and excellent staff at Ololo Safari Lodge and Farm who hosted us with exceptional hospitality, comfort and delicious meals, most of which are sourced directly from the self-sustaining farm. Thanks particularly to Charley and Jim Chapman for keeping us all (a group of 30!) informed, organised and on track through the trip, and the expert Ololo driver-guides who consistently seemed to know the best places to see the amazing animals and birds, while always keeping us safe.

Under the expertise of Charley and Jim, our itinerary included the Nairobi National Park, the Maasai Mara, and Lamu. We went on exceptional game drives with guides who were so knowledgeable about the animals and their environment. Our cultural sharing included singing with other choirs, visiting a school and Maasai village - the Kenyans are so warm and friendly! The accommodation and food throughout the trip was great, with fabulous service, and on returning to Ololo Lodge on our last night, it felt like coming home. "I just completed the most memorable Kenyan adventures with Ololo Safaris along with members of my choir. Charley, our tour organiser, curated our tour according to our requests and it exceeded all expectations. We started and finished our tour at the Ololo Lodge and visited other parts of Kenya in between.
Highlights included rehearsing with and then performing an intimate concert with the Nairobi Chamber Chorus, a visit to a primary school supported by the Ololo Foundation, a three day stay at the Maasai Mara (more safari fun with different animals, amazing sunsets and cheeky monkeys at the base camp we stayed at) and a visit to a Maasai village, a delightful couple of nights down the coast at Lamu. Charley was super relaxed and unflappable and made adjustments to the plans without hesitation as required to make sure we had the very best time. In Nairobi, we scored an invitation to sing at a local church attended by a Ololo staff member. In Lamu, a planned day long sailing trip in Lamu became undesirable due to weather conditions and was, without much fuss at all, turned into an unforgettable sunset sail and beach campfire and dinner."

We experienced an amazing trip in Kenya that was organised by Jim Chapman at Ololo Safaris. We used the amazing Ololo Lodge near Nairobi as our base and visited the adjacent Nairobi NP, the Maasai Mara, Lake Naivasha, and Amboseli NP with our excellent guide Ernest.
Jim spent a lot of time understanding our needs through the booking process and put together a great itinerary that was presonalised for us to get the best out of our experience. He gave us great advice and the trip was amazing as a result. Jim was prompt in replying to our enquiries before the trip and was always on hand when we were on safari to answer any questions we had.
Ernest is a very experienced guide and was also a great driver during out safari. We had full confidence in him and he workerd very hard during out trip to show us all that a Kenyan safari can offer. We would love to go back to Kenya in the future and have Ololo Safaris show us more of what this wonderful country has to offer.
We have travelled to many parts of the world and we rate our experience with Ololo Safaris very highly, and on reflection, possibly our best trip. If you are considering a trip to Kenya give Jim a call!

"Recently travelled with 4 friends from school days! Our African safari adventure was organised by Charley from Ololo Safaris and was tailored perfectly for us….incredible from start to finish. We traveled through Kenya staying at Ololo lodge with safaris in Nairobi and the Masai Mara…looked after by Steve who made the experience very special! On to Uganda to trek to the gorillas…magical! Back to Nairobi and a chill out at Ololo before heading to Zambia … highlights Victoria Falls (of course) and a stay in a private lodge on the Zambezi River where we were pampered by our private chef and butler. We travelled on to the Chobe River in Botswana for more amazing wildlife experiences. Thank you Charley and everyone at Ololo for giving us the trip of a lifetime!"
