Set on a private conservancy in the Masai Mara, this is a place where you can enjoy great wildlife viewing without the busier areas of the reserve.
Saruni Leopard Hill blends comfort and design with a strong connection to nature.
Saruni Leopard Hill is a property we really enjoy recommending for guests looking for something a bit different in the Masai Mara. It’s located in Mara Naboisho Conservancy, which means you get excellent wildlife viewing, but with far fewer vehicles than in the main reserve.
The camp itself is small and well spaced out, with a modern design that still feels very much in tune with the surroundings. One of the standout features here is the retractable roof in each tent – you can lie in bed and watch the stars, which is something quite special after a full day on safari.
Guiding here is excellent, and because it’s in a conservancy, you have more flexibility with activities like off-road driving and night game drives. It’s a great option if you want a high-quality safari experience, but in a quieter, more exclusive setting
EnquireThe tents at Saruni Leopard Hill are spacious and very well designed, with a modern feel that still keeps things comfortable and relaxed. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom with hot running water and flushing toilets, along with large decks to take in the surrounding views.
The retractable roof is a real highlight, allowing you to sleep under the stars if you choose to. Despite the design focus, the rooms still feel practical and well suited to the environment, giving you everything you need without feeling overdone.
EnquireStaying in Mara Naboisho Conservancy gives you access to a wider range of activities than many areas of the Masai Mara. Game drives here are excellent, with strong chances of seeing big cats, elephants, and plenty of plains game, all without the crowds.
One of the big advantages is the ability to go off-road and enjoy night drives, which adds a completely different perspective to your safari. Guided bush walks are also available, offering a closer look at the smaller details of the ecosystem.
Cultural visits to local Maasai communities can be arranged, and as always, bush meals and sundowners are part of the experience. It’s a well-rounded safari offering that suits both first-time visitors and those returning to Kenya.
