Ololo Safaris is so much more than just a safari company.
Since the beginning we’ve had the vision of creating a community that is dedicated to uplifting the environment and local families of this region that we love. Whether it be planting trees, establishing school gardens, or supporting our partner schools to provide opportunities for improved access to quality education, every safari contributes to a better community and environment around us.Â
Your safari

13 teacher salaries

Tree planting projects in local schools
Establishing school gardens and sustainable initiatives
General construction projects to improve infrastructure
Travel as a force for good
Through travel and tourism, we have the power to do great things.Â

These schools reflect the struggles faced by many others in Kajiado County: a semi-arid region that faces food insecurity, high poverty levels, and a lack of environmental awareness. Through the Ololo Foundation, we aim to improve these conditions, fostering sustainable practices and better opportunities for the students and their community.

St. John’s School is located in the heart of the Kibera slum, one of the largest slums in Africa, roughly the size of New York’s Central Park, and is home to almost 1 million people. We are constantly striving to improve both the infrastructure and the level of education at the school. Our efforts include building new and upgraded classrooms, providing essential learning resources, paying teachers’ salaries, and offering scholarships for higher education. Here are some of our upcoming projects:
- Build and fit out a computer lab.
- Increased teacher salaries.
- Improved school feeding and nutrition program.
- Providing scholarships to attend further education.
Trees for Life Project – Oloosirkon School
Partnership established
2022
We live in one of the most naturally biodiverse ecosystems in the world. With hundreds of species of mammals and over 450 bird species in our area alone, trees play a vital role in bringing together this ecosystem. By pledging to plant ‘1 tree per guest’ at our partner schools, not only do we aim to sequester the carbon produced by your travels, but we also hope to teach the youth about the importance of protecting our precious environment. We invite you to visit Oloosirkon School and to plant a tree in the school’s Shamba (farm). Other projects at the school include the refurbishment of new classrooms, construction of a kitchen and borehole in order to supply water to the project.
