Located in a private Kitirua Conservancy, bordering the national park, game drives, walks, sundowners and bush meals take place both inside the national park and in the conservancy, where guests enjoy exclusivity.
“Staying at Tortilis means access to a 30,000-acre private conservancy so you can escape the crowds and have the wildlife all to yourself” – Charley, Director
Tortilis Camp, named after the Acacia tortilis tree, is nestled on a hill within an Acacia woodland in Amboseli. Located in a private conservancy bordering the national park, guests enjoy exclusive game drives, walks, sundowners, and bush meals both in the conservancy and the national park. Tortilis Camp has a prime location for witnessing the majesty of Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro. Tortilis Camp was one of the first eco-lodges of its size, and is very proudly 100% solar. Guests can rest assure they are leaving a minimal footprint during their stay.
The spacious thatched tents are designed with comfort in mind, with king or twin beds and elegant ensuite bathrooms. Exclusive accommodations are available in the luxurious Private House and Family Tent, set separately to the main camp, each enjoying access to a shared private pool and stunning views to Kilimanjaro.
Tortilis Camp offers guests a range of activities from guided game drives, walking safaris, and sundowners overlooking Mount Kilimanjaro. Enjoy bush meals, visit local Maasai villages for a cultural experience, and explore the area's rich birdlife. These activities provide a deep connection to the stunning landscapes and wildlife of Amboseli.
