For 2026, KWS categorises visitors into four main groups:

• East African Citizens – citizens of Kenya and other East African Community countries.
• Kenya Residents – foreign nationals legally residing in Kenya with a valid permit, pass or permanent residence status.
• African Citizens – citizens of African countries outside the East African Community.
• Non-Residents – international visitors travelling to Kenya on a valid visa.
