Emboo Camp, hidden along the Emboo River, combines luxury with sustainability—100% solar-powered and 85% more water-efficient—without compromising access to wildlife, sometimes even seen from the river. A proud part of the Maasai community, “Emboo” means “a pride,” reflecting the camp’s close ties to local people and conservation.
Emboo's River Suites are tucked into the tree canopy overlooking the flowing river. The design is modern and comfortable, with interiors inspired by the colours of the Lilac Breasted Roller. Each suite includes a private lounge, bedroom, and rain shower with river views. The suites blend contemporary comfort with proximity to nature.
Game Drives: Emboo’s game drives are conducted in fully electric Land Rovers and Land Cruisers, powered by the camp’s solar system. The silent vehicles allow closer, less intrusive wildlife encounters across the Mara’s plains and riverine forests. Expect classic sightings—lions at sunset, elephants at the river, and predator–prey action—guided by expert trackers. Evenings end around the fire with stories, cultural insights, and dinner under the stars.
Cultural Experiences: Emboo works closely with local Maasai communities, offering hands-on experiences such as fire-making, tracking, archery, and learning about medicinal plants. Emboo River Camp is a model of regenerative tourism, running entirely on solar power and using electric safari vehicles to minimize noise and emissions. All wastewater is treated on site with natural wetlands, food waste is converted into biogas and fertilizer, and single-use plastics are avoided. The camp sources ingredients from its organic gardens and offers guests opportunities to participate in tree-planting projects. Emboo also stands out by empowering women in all roles of its team.
